== Merle Collins == Merle Collins is a Grenadian writer and poet who studied in Jamaica and the United States. She worked with Maurice Bishop’s People’s Revolutionary Government as a coordinator for Latin American and Caribbean research. Her literary career began with contributions to ''Callaloo: Four Writers from Grenada'' (1984), followed by her first poetry collection, ''Because the Dawn Breaks'' (1985), and debut novel, ''Angel'' (1987). She later published ''Rain Darling'' (1990), ''Rotten Pomerack'' (1992), and her second novel, ''The Colour of Forgetting'' (1995).
